There are several types of public works spaces.

In front of Pavilion 1, the space is linear, relatively narrow and presents a problem of topography, given the difference in levels between the façade and the sidewalk. In contrast, the space in front of the Vestibule, which comprises the main access square for the grounds, is much broader, with a smoother topography. Here a grand fountain is featured, very dynamic in its play with light and water, complementing the lakes on the buildings' façades.

Pedrosa A Street functions as a great outdoor vestibule for the fairgrounds. In this space, an attempt is made at controlling the traffic created by visitors arriving in different modes of transportation: taxis, connecting buses from the grounds at Montjuïc, bus lines, private vehicles and subway.

The elements of design and urban outdoor furnishings are very similar to those of the public works on Foc Street and were conceived by ITO AA with the intention of maintaining continuity, cohesion, a unitary image and the identity of the public works surrounding the new fairgrounds as a whole.

The public works at Plaça Deprimida are situated within Barcelona 's municipal boundaries. The area surrounding this project is localized at Foc Street and its limits delineate it: to the west, Alumini Street and, to the east, the new Urani Street.
